Frequently Asked Questions
PSA-
We are currently on the tail end of an almost fixed mudslide here in Big Sur. I am hoping to get the next batch of packages out on Friday February, 10th. After that packages will continue to go out at least once a week. I’ll have to drive 1 hour to town since our post can’t come from the north for 6+ weeks to deliver and pick up mail. Thanks for being patient with me!
When will my item arrive?
I live in a very rural area and will bring outgoing post to town once a week guaranteed. Once your item has shipped it will be 3-8 business days depending on location.
Can you make the same thing twice?
More than likely not, especially if I am working with Jade. All of the Jade I use is naturally shaped, polished and sculpted. Therefore no two pieces will ever be the same. I can try to imitate styles, just be aware nothing can ever be reproduced identical. If you have questions or requests please always feel free to reach out.
Do you accept returns?
Returns are possible on a case by case basis. If you are unhappy with your item please reach out and we can try to work something out.
How to care for your jewelry!
Always take jewelry off when getting in water to avoid damage to stones. Jade will be completely tolerable to water submersion, but to protect the setting and keep the life of your piece.. take it off :) More delicately crafted jewelry should not be worn during manual labor. To preserve the look of your wears, try to store in an airtight container when not wearing to protect from tarnish. All orders are shipped with a polishing cloth to help you keep that shine strong!
Resizing?
I am not responsible if you order the wrong ring size. There are many options to figure out your size including ordering a ring sizer online or popping in to your local jewelry shop and asking to be sized. There are also apps that can help you determine size or good ol' fashioned string and a ruler with a simple conversion.
Do you take custom orders?
Customs are currently closed. Checking my instagram bio will be the easiest way to see if they are open again. @solshinesilver
What is Vulcan?
Vulcan is a term used to describe jade that has a red, orange, or brown coating on it. That coating is caused by the iron rich soil that the piece jade sat in for a long period of time. Vulcan Jade is very rare and once they fall back down on to the beach, the vulcan can wear away but often times remaining in the fractures of the stone longer.
What is Chromium?
Chromium is a green mineral found in many stones across the globe, including nephrite.
